Weekend Fashion Shoot

I’m working with a fashion company in Indianapolis called the House of 5th, and here’s a photo from this weekend’s shoot. This is Brittany Mason, the current Miss Indiana from the Miss USA competition, and she didn’t hesitate to model on this concrete beam in high heels over a wasteland of trash that was 10 feet below her. I was impressed! We shot this at an abandoned mental hospital in the Indianapolis area. To see more of this shoot with this great group of models, please check out my set on flickr. You can also visit Brittany’s website for more info about her.

What does this have to do with wedding photography? I am on the lookout for brides who want to push the creative envelope on their bridal portraits. There’s nothing wrong with a bridal portrait of you standing on the steps of the altar or holding a bouquet as you stand on the front lawn of the church, but wouldn’t you like something that’s totally creative and unique? If you are an “outside the box” type of bride, then we should talk! :) I offer an extended bridal session what we’ll shoot sometime other than your wedding day, and the goal here is to create the types of images that you’re likely to find in the bridal magazines, just with more creativity included. (Some of those shots are too impersonal because the focus is placed on the dress and not on the bride). Those of you who have talked with me know that I’m as fanatical about getting good engagement and bridal portrait photos as I am about shooting the wedding day itself. For a limited time, I’ll be offering both the engagement and bridal portrait session at no extra charge on my wedding package. So, let’s chat! :)
